We've lost one . . .

Last night, my family received a phone call. We learned that an eighteen year old guy who belonged to our church was killed in a motorcycle accident earlier last evening. He was late to work and trying to make up for lost time. The pavement was wet. Although he was wearing his helmet, he still died.

He had just graduated from high school this past May. He was a beloved son and beloved brother to six boys and girls. He helped his family by working and will be missed by so many people.

I only remember talking to him once - a time when I nearly broke his nose by swinging open a windowless door to our church's office. We exchanged "Excuse me"s and "I'm sorry"s at the time.

While I didn't know him all that well, I still cried. His mother lost a son that had made her very proud.

Thankfully, he was baptised and he had gone on the latest mission trip. Please say a prayer for his family, his friends, and his church.

Also, drive carefully. It's really "better late, than never."
